About the clinic
Medica Riga is a family business founded in 2019 by cardiologists Agnese and Kārlis Štrenges, basing their work on professionalism and mutual trust.
Our goal is to provide highly specialized, evidence-based, and high-quality medical care in the field of heart health. We work with the conviction that treatment is a collaboration between a doctor and a patient, in which sustainable solutions are jointly sought. In addition to our daily work, through the social enterprise "Medica Štrenge", we also provide socially significant activities – charity days, patient education, and support for socially vulnerable groups. Both medical quality and a humane attitude towards each patient are important to us.
About the team
Our clinic employs highly qualified, energetic doctors who are professionals in their field. Most of them have interned or worked in foreign clinics (Germany, Belgium, Great Britain) and can provide patients with services and consultations in several languages (i.e., Latvian, English, German, and Russian).
Agnese Štrenge
Cardiologist – Invasive Cardiologist – Adult Congenital Heart Disease Specialist
Studied at Riga Stradins University and Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and then did an additional internship and worked for 4 years at the Berlin Heart Clinic (Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin) at the Center for Congenital Heart Diseases.
Many years of work experience in cardiology at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital and in Germany, mainly working as a specialist in congenital heart diseases, invasive cardiology and intensive care, as well as a specialist in non-invasive diagnostics (echocardiography).
Member of the European Association for Percutaneous Cardiovascular Intervention (EAPCI), the European Association for Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and the Congenital Heart Disease Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology.

Cardiologist - Arrhythmologist
Studied at Riga Stradins University.
Significant work experience in cardiology at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital.
Specializes in arrhythmology (testing, programming, and implantation of heart rhythm regulating devices - pacemakers (ECGs), defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices (CRTs).
She completed an internship at the University Hospital of Prague, Královské Vinohrady, Czech Republic, in the method of physiological cardiac stimulation.
